in the pleasant hills of Lastra a Signa near Florence, Villa L’Oliveta
is located on a quiet road lined with gated estates. The entire second
floor of this spacious 19th century country house is an
apartment for up to 8. It enjoys its own secluded pool and gardens and separate
entrance and parking area.
The private entrance to
the flat leads up a staircase to the second floor. There is a very large
living and dining room with comfortable furnishings and a large fireplace
and TV. Furnishings include a pleasant mix of family antiques and
comfortable sofas and chairs.
The country kitchen is
completely equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, refrigerator with
freezer and gas stove. There are two master bedrooms each with
matrimoniale (queen sized) beds and ensuite full bathrooms with showers.
The third bedroom has a double bed and full bath with shower accessed from
the nearby corridor.
 The
beautifully landscaped grounds include a pretty pool (5 x 9 meters) and an
outdoor dining area overlooking the olive groves and surrounding valleys.
Nearby Lastra a Signa offers village shopping, a large American style
supermarket, some charming restaurants, frequent bus service to Florence
and easy access to the Autostrada. Enrico Caruso maintained a lovely
country home here and used to frequent the village. His favorite
restaurant, Senesi, is still in business and still serves typical Tuscan
specialties and local favorites. |
