High in the verdant hills above the charming city of Lucca, CASA NICCOLO enjoys fantastic views of wooded primeval valleys and the orderly olive groves of the surrounding countryside. This spacious stone country house for 6-8 with views from every room, is set in casually landscaped gardens with a large pool with spectacular views, a covered outdoor dining area and stone barbeque.  The gracious farm house is reached by a narrow private road and offers privacy without being remote from the pleasures of Lucca.

The entrance to the home is enhanced by lovely informal garden.  On the main floor there is a very large living room with comfortable upholstered chairs and a sofa facing a large fireplace.  The spacious dining area enjoys wonderful views and is light and airy.  Cool tile floors and thick stone walls ensure comfort on even the hottest of summer days. Furnishings include a pleasant mix of family antiques and comfortable sofas and chairs.

The country kitchen is completely equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, refrigerator, freezer and gas stove and has a large table facing a beautiful Tuscan hearth.  From the kitchen, French doors open to a charming terrace with stone barbeque, wood oven and outdoor dining area with spectacular views. There is a small bathroom with toilet and sink near the kitchen.

Upstairs, there are four bedrooms and two full baths with tubs and hand held showers.  There are two spacious bedrooms with matrimoniale beds (queen sized), one bedroom with bunk beds, and one bedroom with a double bed. All of these rooms enjoy top of the world views and comfortable furnishings.

The beautifully landscaped grounds include a large pool (12 x 6 meters), and there are extensive trails for hiking.  The ancient ruins of old Acqulea are at the top of a nearby hill and can be reached in a few minutes hike. The owner, Annamarie, lives on the property and prepares a welcome “snack” for arriving guests. She will also cook meals with advance reservations. CASA NICCOLO has long been a family home and is now a unique property available to our guests.

CASA NICCOLO offers a superb opportunity to enjoy all of Tuscany and Northern Italy. Florence, Pisa, Volterra and Siena are within easy driving distance. The local village, Acqulea, is less than 1 kilometer distant, and has basic shops.  The larger Serchio valley village of Ponte e Moriano (with shops and a Michelin rated restaurant) is only 3.5 km, and nearby Lucca has wonderful shopping and many fine restaurants.
