La Palazzina - L31
 Just a few kilometers from Lucca, an historic Tuscan estate sits amid a
beautiful historic park overlooking vast lawns, formal gardens and
ancient trees. La Palazzina, the smaller of two villas
built in 1672, as part of a noble family's country estate, is a perfect
gem accommodating 9 persons. The landscaped grounds include a
small lake, groves of old camellia trees, and wonderful paths through
ancient woods. Great care has been taken to retain the original features
of the 17th century Tuscan estate while providing modern conveniences.
As the villa's status as a Historical Monument precludes the construction of an
outdoor pool on the grounds, a small, indoor pool is available in the
limonaia (greenhouse), directly adjacent to the villa, for the exclusive
use of the guests at La Palazzina. The pool is available
from mid-April until the end of September, and heated upon request.
The family home (about 200 meters away) is occasionally rented for
meetings, but is otherwise unoccupied. There is a private chapel on the
grounds as well as the beautiful limonaia and two other
apartments.
La Palazzina is entered through a gracious salon,
furnished with a grand piano and comfortable sofas, with stunning views
of the formal front garden and entry drive and the surrounding woods.
There is a bathroom with shower and washing machine just off the salon.
Upstairs, the spacious living room with French doors opening onto two
balconies is beautifully appointed with family antiques, comfortable sofas
and chairs. This room with its wonderful views and high ceilings is the
heart of the villa. There is an elegant dining room with marble fireplace.
The front balcony, or loggia, overlooks the formal grounds and is
furnished with outdoor furniture for sunbathing or dining al fresco.
The rear balcony, similarly furnished, overlooks a small lake and
magnificent woods. The fully equipped kitchen is large enough to
accommodate all guests.
There are two double bedrooms, two twin bed rooms and a single
bedroom and two full baths on this floor (one with shower and one
with tub and shower). The double bedrooms are especially spacious,
comfortable and light.
La Palazzina offers a splendid opportunity to experience the real Italy.
There are several excellent trattorie and restaurants nearby.
Shopping is available at 1.5 km. Florence, Siena, the Chianti, Pietrasanta, and the Cinque Terre are within easy driving distance.

A supplementary charge is made for
central heating, pool heating and telephone, based on consumption.
A security deposit of $600 is collected with your final payment,
and returned to you within one month following your departure from
La Palazzina. |
