Villa Il Palazzo
 Set on a small hillside just on the edge of
the medieval Tuscan village of Cevoli, Villa Il Palazzo
offers a most convenient location for up to 18. This elegant villa is all
that remains of a great country estate belonging to the noble family of Cevoli who ruled the area in the 16th century. Its formal
gardens, beautiful pool and spectacular terraces invite guests to relax
and its tastefully renovated interior which retains the original
characteristic features of a Tuscan town palace while providing
comfortable modern conveniences.
Guests enter the villa through a walled garden
with ample off-street parking. The grand entrance foyer with its intricate
marble floor and barrel vaulted ceiling sets the tone for this gracious
home. On the main floor there is a large formal living room invitingly
furnished with comfortable sofas, elegant antiques, a grand piano and an
enormous fireplace. There is also a spacious sitting room with fireplace
and a cozy TV room. The luxurious formal dining room can easily seat 12.
Dinner guests enjoy views of the landscaped garden through French doors
which open into the private garden. Furnishings include a gracious mix of
family antiques and comfortable sofas and chairs.
The Tuscan country kitchen is completely
equipped with dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer and 6 burner electric and
gas stove and has plenty of work space for the gourmet cook. There
is a charming breakfast terrace with views of the surrounding countryside
just off the kitchen. There is also a bathroom with half tub and hand
held shower as well as a laundry room with washing machine on this floor.
Several outdoor living areas are available within the walled garden,
including a gazebo near the pool with spectacular views of the Tuscan
sunset.
 An impressive stone staircase leads to the
upper floor and to the central salon with its frescoed vaulted ceiling and
antique furnishings. The large game room has a full size billiard table
and comfortable seating. There are two master bedrooms with queen sized
beds, each with en suite bathrooms with showers, one twin bedded room with
en suite bathroom with shower, and a queen sized bedroom and a twin bedded
room which share a large bathroom with tub, stall shower and two wash
basins. All are elegantly furnished with ample storage and good linens.
On the recently completed third floor are four
double bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom with shower. Each of
these bedrooms is also equipped with an air conditioning unit. There
is also a loft opening ascending from this floor consisting of a single
bedroom with attached bathroom and shower. This bedroom is also air
conditioned.
An elevator is available to service all
floors, making this luxury villa an ideal "Italian Home" for persons with
mobility problems.
Villa Il Palazzo
offers a splendid opportunity to enjoy all of Tuscany. Florence, Siena (1
hour), the Chianti vineyards (30 minutes), and Pisa (15 minutes) are
within easy driving distance. Local shopping in the charming village of Cevoli is within walking
distance. There are several excellent trattorie and restaurants nearby.
There is a spa resort just 5 km distant in the town of Casciana Terme. The
caretaker is an
excellent cook. Upon request she can engaged to prepare delicious
tradition Tuscan meals for you during your stay.
The grounds of Villa Il Palazzo include
a private outdoor pool (10 X 4 meters), complete with outdoor furniture and a
Barbecue. Opening off the kitchen and salon is a large terrace
containing a large gazebo, with dining table and chairs. This is a
delightful area for dining "al fresco".
