Villa Torriani is an elegant and luxurious Tuscan villa with marvelous views of the Serchio river valley and the medieval city of Lucca from its hilltop setting north of the city. It comfortably sleeps 13 persons in its 3 spacious double bedroom suites, 2 twin bedrooms, and 3 single bedrooms, with 6 full bathrooms and 2 half bathrooms. Recently modernized, it retains the grace and elegance of the early nineteenth century decor of its original owners. As can be seen from the many photographs, it offers the ultimate in comfort and convenience, while located to provide easy access to the autostrada system and the rest of Tuscany.

A formal, walled Italian garden opens onto the entrance to the main living level (upper ground floor). At the center of the main floor is the grand salon with tall French windows overlooking Lucca. It is beautifully furnished with elegant period pieces and comfortable upholstered sofas and chairs. There is a second living room or game room, a charming library and a music room with upright piano and with French doors opening onto a large terrace with marvelous views over the valley and Lucca in the distance. A formal dining room can seat all the guests in comfort. Just off the dining room is a television lounge and computer room with comfortable seating. The spacious, fully equipped kitchen has two dishwashers, two stoves, a large refrigerator-freezer, and a microwave oven. The kitchen opens into a cheerful breakfast room. There are also two half bathrooms on this level. In 2007, the villa was equipped with high speed internet access.

The upper, or second floor, contains all of the sleeping accommodations. At the top of the grand staircase, on the right, is a dressing area with antique armoires, 1 double bedroom with en suite bathroom (tub, Jacuzzi shower), another double bed room, a single bedroom, another bathroom with Jacuzzi shower, a twin bedded bedroom, a single bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower. There is a staircase leading to the little tower on top of the villa.

On the left of the grand staircase there is a similar dressing area with antique armoires, 1 twin bedded bedroom, a bathroom with shower, a single bedroom, another bathroom with Jacuzzi shower, a double bedroom, and a bathroom with Jacuzzi shower.

On the lower ground floor is a laundry room with two washing machines.  The ground floor also includes an independent apartment for Giuseppe, the house caretaker, with a separate entrance from the lower level garden. 

In the cellar guests will find, on sale, a very nice collection of the best wines and olive oils from the Lucca area, selected by Giuseppe.

Renting Villa Torriani

Prices include utility costs (except central heating and telephone), use of pool, and 3 hours of cleaning (6 days per week in mid/peak seasons, 2 days per week in budget season), and a welcome dinner, including wine, provided by the caretaker.

Payment for heating, if used, and telephone usage, is made prior to departure. Telephone usage is metered; Central heating is €230/week. Extra maid service and cooking service are available on request at an additional cost.

A security deposit of $1000 is collected with your final payment, and returned to you within one month following your departure from Villa Torriani, less any charges for breakage.
